Kotoba Petit Class
– Read, Write & Speak (Coming Soon)
This is more than just learning Japanese.
It’s a gentle space to feel the rhythm of the language — through picture books, poems, and everyday words.
Here, small voices like “I want to say this” begin to bloom, naturally and freely.
This class is currently in development. Stay tuned for updates!
Looking Ahead
Right now, we are a small online garden — growing quietly, word by word.
In the future, we dream of holding in-person programs — in a place where children can:
play karuta,
write tanka and haiku,
and express themselves freely, joyfully, and in their own voice.
We look forward to nurturing this dream together — wherever it may take root.
FAQ|Frequently Asked Questions
- Who is this program for?
-
Kotoba no Niwa for Children is designed for children in Grades 1–5 (approximately ages 6–11).
We warmly welcome children growing up in bilingual or heritage language environments, including those who are not yet confident speaking Japanese.
Each child is supported at their own pace, with gentle care and attention to their stage of development and their personal relationship with language. - My child is not comfortable speaking Japanese. Is that okay?
-
Absolutely.
It’s completely natural to hesitate, struggle, or feel afraid of making mistakes in the beginning.
We believe that in order for language to grow, children need a safe space—and someone who will patiently wait and listen.
We aim to create time and space where your child can start to feel:
“I want to talk”, “I want to try writing”—in their own rhythm. - Are there in-person classes?
-
Currently, all classes are offered online.
In the future, we hope to offer in-person classes — gentle, hands-on gatherings where children can engage with language through all their senses:
playing karuta, exploring word games, and talking about books together.
These moments may one day take root somewhere special, where words and hearts can grow side by side. - Where can I find pricing information?
-
Since our Homework Support and Kotoba Petit classes are currently offered by request, pricing may vary depending on the class content and frequency.
We’d be happy to share the details during a free consultation or if you reach out to us directly.
